A short hike

Well, I had to get out again, and do some product testing.
So I spun up Wager Gulch to the Colorado Trail,
Then ripped some great dirt road and singletrack on the ridge going south on the CT,
which of course ended all to soon and became an uphill slog over snowslopes, creeks, and steep rocky uphills, interspersed with some rideable granny gear climbing.
I got to use my bike as an ice ax across one particularly steep snowfield.....
Procedure loop:
kick steps
chuck bike forward letting the pedal and bars hold it
repeat

then a bit more nice downhill
then......... to get back down to CR30, willows, mud, rocks, routefinding, numbing stream crossings, and camped in there somewhere. Then I woke up at 5 (the wind kept me from sleeping well), and hit the trail.
Twas a great ride and all the kit worked well.
Homemade gear along for the ride:
frame pack, seat bag, bar bag, gas tank, wind coat, tarp and stuff sack, hydration pack (like my Nathan HPL 020 but bigger)

In other news, logos are in!

Getting Soft

I've been accused of getting soft in my old age, so figured I may as well take advantage of it and get a suspension fork. The only other suspension fork I've owned was a 1" threaded Rock Shox Indy..... Hopefully this Manitou Tower Pro should be a little more beneficial.
3,200 vert gained and lost in about 10 miles was a good break in ride for it. There were not a few large loose rocks on the way down too. Not bad considering I'm still trying to recover from calf tendinitis.

Logos coming!

By popular demand, I'm finally getting logos from my aunt.
They're embroidered onto black VX21 in Avon, NY.
The design comes straight from a picture I took in 2006 while guiding a hike up a trail-less gulch in the San Juans.
The logo prototype went to a steel Jones frame this spring.
Climbing Half Peak via Square Gulch.
Crazy loose rock towers between UN 13,674 and Half Peak!

Hopefully I'll be able to get some sewing done this weekend too, but I'm also a little sick, waiting on logos, and am finally putting a squishy fork on my Jabberwocky.

Research and Development

Its about time for an update........ there's been lots of new stuff in the last year, I've been doing some custom work, went back to school for mechanical engineering, and much more.
This week I finally got out on a 12 hour round trip overnighter to test out some new stuff.

fire
It was the first real test for a new seatbag and bar bag design.

Last weekend I shipped out a couple fun bags, a tricked out bag for a Willits monstercross, and a basic bag for a small Fargo. Fun Fun!

I'm also finally getting some logos in, like this prototype logo, except embroidered onto black VX21 fabric.
